Villa Desciption: Villa Hibiscus enables you to enjoy the slow pace of life in rural Turkey. It is within reach of a multitude of different and exciting activities, if you can tear yourself away from the cooling pool just outside the door. Built in a slightly elevated position in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains outside a typical Turkish village, the villa enjoys the most ravishing views across the Xanthos valley to Babadag.

Coast/Beach: The nearest is spectacular Patara beach with miles of sand and very few people at about 45 minutes away. Olu Deniz, Fethiye and Calis Beach are about an hour away.
Out & About: Kadikoy village (2 min) offers a flavour of typical Turkish country life together with supplies and a market on Mondays. Several locantas (restaurants) line the road between here and Saklikent where delicious local dishes can be sampled. Alternatively, Maryanne (City and Guilds qualified) will deliver home cooked Turkish or English food to you in your villa. Saklikent Gorge (15 min). Whizz down the river on a rubber ring stopping for a mud bath on the way or walk up the gorge through the cooling waters. After these rigours you will probably need to enjoy a cool drink or even a freshly caught trout or Turkish pancake on a platform over the river. There are tree houses suspended high above the banks of the river where overnight stays, dinner and breakfast can be arranged for as little as £12 per person (at current rates). Tlos (10 min) The ruins offer spectacular views over the valley making it clear why the city was built on this site. The ruins date from the Lycians, through Greeks and Romans to the 15th Century. The site includes graves built into the rockside, an amphitheatre and a racetrack. On up beyond the ruins, there are restaurants – one of which has a bar with trout swimming in it and a pool of icy water. Stay in for 5 minutes and you get a free drink, 15 and you get a free meal! Olu Deniz (55 min) has a long beach and many of the usual activities: ringoing, waterskiiing, pedalos, boat trips and of course, swimming and sun bathing. A highlight is paragliding. Fethiye (45 min.) The nearest main coastal town is a bustling working town and port. The port has everything: yachts, Gulets, which take you on trips round the bay and island. Xanthos (35 min). Ruins are on a hill overlooking the bottom part of the valley and facing the sea and Patara. It was the centre of the Lycian kingdom. Kalkan (55 min). Is a very picturesque village with winding cobbled streets, good shopping and restaurants. Further info see our website.

Travel & Distances: There are so many places to visit in this area that it is impossible to itemise each distance. All the pursuits mentioned in the Out and About section are well within striking distance and we quote approximate journey time by car.
Booking and Further Information: A 20% refundable deposit is required when the booking is made. The balance of the cost is due 9 weeks before the day of departure for your holiday in Villa Hibiscus. We require a breakage deposit of £100 at the same time as the balance is paid, 9 weeks before the first day of the holiday. Provided that there are no breakages this £100 will be returned to you in full within a fortnight of your return.
