Villa Desciption: VILLA MANZARA. The Villa is divided into three completely self contained luxury apartments available individually or which can be booked together for larger groups or families. All three apartments are furnished and equipped to a very high standard and are used regularly by ourselves and our family. They each have their own roof terrace or veranda or private patio, and share the use of the small pool and the garden terrace. The apartments can be booked separately or together, and are ideal for the extended family or friends holidaying as a group. The villa is situated on the hillside just above the delightful village of Kalkan with spectacular views over Turkey’s Turquoise Mediterranean coast. It is a 10 minute walk down to the village.

Amenities/Facilities Provided: All apartments are furnished and equipped to a very high standard and are used regularly by our family and ourselves. They each have their own roof terrace or veranda or private patio, and the use of the small pool and the garden terrace. Each apartment has its own entrance. An internal staircase (but outside the inner entrance doors) links the Veranda and Rooftop apartments. This staircase also leads to the Roof Terrace, with its spectacular uninterrupted views. All bedrooms are air conditioned and kitchens are fully furnished with large fridges with freezer tops, washing machines, dishwashers, stoves etc.. In addition to the Roof and Vine terraces, the pool terrace has sun loungers, tables and chairs. The mature garden surrounding the pool provides shade and has a variety of fruit trees and vines. For serious swimmers !! there is an Apartment Hotel just 100 yards away with the largest pool in Kalkan, and with an outside bar/restaurant and which allows free unrestricted access to guests at Villa Manzara.

Coast/Beach: Kalkan has a clean pebble beach with sparkling blue water 15 minutes easy walk from the Villa. Water taxis will take you to nearby beach clubs, with bathing platforms for swimming and with restaurant facilities. There are boat trips to outlying islands. Kaputas has a sandy beach at the bottom of a ravine a 15 min drive away with a frequent Dolmus service, or by boat from the harbour. Patara beach, the longest in Southern Turkey, is approx a 20 minute drive by car or dolmus and has 18km of unspoilt white sands.
Out & About: Kalkan is on the Lycian coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is a beautiful little Mediterranean harbour village, full of character, charm and hospitality. Bougainvillea covered, wooden balconied villas line the cobbled streets leading down to the harbour. There are many excellent and reasonably priced rooftop restaurants and pavement cafes abound. Fascinating shops selling wonderful Turkish rugs, silver, jewellery and other interesting items are perfect for browsing – and buying !! The local shopkeepers are always helpful but there is never any hassle - you are more likely to be offered a glass of Turkish tea and a chat!! There is always time for both in Kalkan. For the more energetic there are some wonderful boat and swimming trips and visits to ancient historical sites, which can be organised from within the village, and are well worth doing. Historical sites and trail walks in the mountains are easily accessible. There are numerous outdoor sports available in the area, including canoeing, snorkelling, sailing, para-gliding and scuba diving. Family horse riding treks can be arranged in the mountains with the opportunity to meet local Turkish families. There are 2 supermarkets, mini markets, pharmacies, 3 banks, ATMs, post office, doctor, dentists and much more.

Accessibility Information: The apartments are each on a different level and the Villa is not suitable for those with very small children or those who find steps difficult.
Travel & Distances: Shops, supermarkets, restaurants are 10 minutes walk - all downhill!! Rather longer back but for those less energetic there is easy transport from supermarkets. Taxi fare back from center is approx £3 and worth every penny when weather is hot! Patara beach 20 min drive. Saklikent Canyon 30 min drive. Xanthos, the ancient capital of Lycia, 30 min drive. Myra (rock tombs and amphitheatre) 1.5 hour drive. Kekova (sunken city) 1 hour drive.
